Love Bank Park is a community-led public space located at the corner of Nebraska and Cherokee Street.
The park is cared for and managed by the Love Bank Park Committee of the Cherokee Street Community Improvement District.
Love Bank Park Redevelopment
Love Bank Park was founded in 2015 by the community. On two vacant lots at the corner of Cherokee St. and Nebraska, business owners and neighbors came together to install a basketball hoop for neighborhood youth and to create a space where the community could come together — to bank on love.
Today the Cherokee Street Community Improvement District is launching a redevelopment project for the park — turning Love Bank into a stronger asset for our street & surrounding community. Developed with input from neighborhood stakeholders, friends, and family, the new vision for the park creates updated spaces to enjoy while keeping Love Bank Park a safe and welcoming benefit to neighbors of all ages.

Whether you're into chess or pop-up markets, seeing a live concert or relaxing in the shade as you wait for the bus, the new Love Bank Park will offer new amenities for the street's diverse community, while preserving core elements of the park.
The new park will feature an improved basketball court — the perfect size for pick up games and half-court tournaments. What's more, the court will be the first permeable basketball court in the region.
The new shade structure & built-in stage will allow the community to come together for concerts, speaker series or small events with ease, and will provide shade for everyday users.
In addition to more planting beds & small trees, the new park prioritizes sustainability through permeable pavement and rainscaping.
Cherokee Street Community Improvement District is working to make this park a reality in 2023. But to do so, we need your help. Support our growing, diverse community and small business district by making a donation to Love Bank Park today.
We've set a goal of raising $25,000 from neighbors & Cherokee Street fans throughout the region, $50,000 from local small businesses & $75,000 from corporate partners to support this project. Help us reach our goal by making a tax-deductible donation today to the Cherokee Street Redevelopment Fund at St. Louis Commmunity Foundation.
The new community plaza at Love Bank Park will feature the names of community members that founded the park, alongside community members that contributed $250 or more towards the project, and businesses that contribute $500 or more.
Is your business interested in going above and beyond for this project and sponsoring a table, planting area or element of the park? Contact CID Director Emily Thenhaus to learn more about sponsor opportunities.
